Finatem Acquires Techno-Physik Group, Essen, Germany
Finatem has acquired Techno-Physik Group from E.G.O. Blanc and Fischer Group, Oberderdingen, Germany, in a management buy-out. The transaction, which was closed in July 2010, is the first investment of Fund Finatem III which has now exceeded the size of the Fund Finatem II and aims to complete its final closing by the end of 2010.
Founded in 1989 in Essen as a production and trading company for non-asbestos insulation materials, Techno-Physik has established internationally in more than 20 years of its company history by developing new insulation materials.
Since 2003, the Techno-Physik Group has comprised Techno-Physik Engineering GmbH, Germany, Mineralka d.o.o. with production sites in Slovenia and Austria, and Fipro AG, Switzerland. The Group employs 100 people at 4 locations and has made long-term investments in the expansion of its range of products and its production capacy for years.
Besides producing Vermiculit products and microfibre plates, the group companies handle and process almost every type of insulating material for use in industries such as electrical and gas heating, domestic products, aluminium, glass and ceramics. Their range of products covers temperatures between -180°C and +1600°C.
In 2009, Techno-Physik realised total sales of EUR 24 million and is the market leader in the distribution of Vermiculit products.
The company is headed by its founder Mr. Uwe Balshüsemann and Mr. Jörg Becker, who both participated in the MBO. They have many years of experience in the distribution and development of glass and fibre products.
