The investment team has the equivalent of more than 100 years of experience in the German midmarket. It is supported by industry experts, who, between them, have over 340 years of local and international management experience. The Finatem team is therefore well-placed to draw on both financial and entrepreneurial experience to conduct smooth transaction processes, implement optimal structures and build long-term partnerships with portfolio companies with the aim of supporting each company’s development to the full.

Partner to the midmarket
Since 2000, Finatem has invested exclusively in mid-sized companies. We have faith in the midmarket and see our role as a partner to our portfolio companies and their management teams. Accordingly, hostile takeovers have no part to play in our business model. We are not focused on one industry sector but seek companies which aspire to play a leading role in their branch.

Rapid and transparent decision-making processes
All investment decisions are made locally in Frankfurt by the five partners. Every enquiry we receive is treated with the strictest confidentiality. All investments are held by a German partnership, which therefore is subject to German law and German accounting standards.

Independent investor
Finatem is an independent and partner-managed firm and does not act in the interests of any third parties. Our sole objective is to work alongside the managers to identify potential, implement it and to achieve an above-average return for all parties involved. All decisions are taken by the five Partners without any external influence. The Finatem team is always the sole point of contact for portfolio companies.

Equal partnership
We invest with you as a partner. The fund and all partners invest their own money in the portfolio companies, alongside management teams. This ensures equal status for all of the parties involved, as we share both the risk and the profit achieved. Management teams generally participate in the investment via individually-tailored management participation models.

Financial support
Finatem offers commercial risk capital in the form of majority-holdings as a solution for company successions and group spin-offs. Typical investments range from EUR 10 to 25 million.

Each financing structure and participation model is developed individually, tailor-made for each commitment, customised to meet the needs of each company. We do not provide any off-the-peg solutions, but exclusively individual concepts that aim to meet the needs of all parties involved.
